PIDF focuses on COP 21

September 5, 2015 8:06 pm

The new secretary general of the Pacific Islands Development Forum Francois Martel says there is still a lot of work that needs to be done before the COP 21 meeting in France.

Martel says it is critical for PIDF to work on a collective agenda.

“Now the question is how we are going to be able to work towards COP 21 and then attend COP 21. But in the spirit of partnership every single leader will be there to actually carry the Suva Declaration.”

With PIDF now an international organization, Martel says there is still room for improvement.

Meanwhile, the PIDF stance to make a unified stand on climate change will be determined on the outcome of the COP 21 meeting in France in December.
