Pensioners not happy with delay

April 17, 2012 7:17 pm

Over 4000 pensioners have yet to receive their first pay out under the new pension scheme.

Fiji National Provident Fund Assistant General Manager Prime Services, Tevita Nagataleka attributed the delay to a technical glitch.

“We has promised them that they will be recieving their payment on the April 16th but due to a techical glitch with our IT system, we were unable to meet that.”

Nagataleka has reassured pensioners they can expect to get their payment within a few days.

“We have activated our plan B in which our staff are working on a 24/7 basis manually trying to prepare the modes of payment to over 4000 pensioners but they should be expecting to get their money in three to four days.”

Nagataleka is urging pensioners to bear with them as they work to clear all payments before the end of the week.
