Government assistance on the elderly has been labeled by the Fiji Pensioners Association as not good enough.
After their Annual General Meeting over the weekend, calls have been made for government to focus on their welfare.
Association President Hari Raj Naicker says pensioners are asking for more assistance to be provided by government.
“And then of course, although there is this social welfare scheme but it is not good enough because health is important and it’s not money that count.”
Naicker says pensioners deserves to be looked after well.
According to Naicker they have written to government regarding issues pertaining to pensioners and they hope their queries will be considered.
