Penang Mill in Rakiraki will cease crushing on Sunday, October 18.

The termination of the crushing season has been ordered by the Sugar Industry Tribunal, Shailend Krishna.

The decision was made in consultation with the Chief Executive of the Sugar Cane Growers Council, Sundresh Chetty and the Executive Chairman of the Fiji Sugar Corporation, Abdul Khan.

All cane growers and harvesting gangs in the Penang Mill area are being urged to make every effort to harvest all cane and deliver it to the mill by October 18.
