The reduction of violence against women in the Pacific is one of the core focus of the Pacific China Friendship Association.

This comes as UN Women report, reveals that two in every three women in the Pacific are victims of violence.

Association President Dr Hiria Ottino says they will closely collaborate with partners to map out ways in addressing the issue.

" It is not a one-step solution. We have to find ways to correct this so we have to put in place programmes on a long scale that can actually alleviate those problems."

Association Counsellor Bernadett Rounds Ganilau says collaborating with other organizations which already have existing Violence against Women programmes can accelerate the reduction of violence in the Pacific.

The Pacific China Friendship Association is currently engaging with thirteen island countries in the Pacific in providing support, counselling and other relevant needs to victims.
