Paying high fees to transport deceased family members on their final journey home will be a thing of the past for at least two maritime islands.

Patterson Brothers Shipping has taken bold steps following requests from its customers regarding funeral assistance.

No fees will apply for carrying a hearse either between Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Ovalau and Koro.

Any three family members traveling with the hearse will also be granted passage free of charge while group concessions will apply for remaining family members traveling to say their farewells.
