After a day’s delay, three hundred passengers on board the Lomaiviti Princess V, managed to reach their final destination safely Tuesday morning.

On Sunday, the ship which was travelling from Savusavu to Suva encountered rough seas and started to take on water forcing it to return to Savusavu.

Apparently, the high waves damaged a door allowing the water to enter the vessel.

On board Passenger, Barbara Rounds says when high waves swayed the vessel away many passengers started to worry.

“I was with my 2 month old baby coming back to Suva and imagine taking a small baby with me in that kind of situation it was really scary for me. It is the first time for me to experience something like that.”

Police have confirmed there were no casualties recorded, however, some vehicles were reported damaged.
