President’s Speech has no substance: Professor Prasad

The NFP leader also claims the FijiFirst government has caused a 50 percent drop in sugar production during their 13 years of leadership.

The President’s speech clearly portrays the government’s disrespect for the President and all Fijians.

This was the statement made by National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad while responding today to the President’s opening address in Parliament.

Prasad claims the president’s speech which was written by the FijiFirst government had no substance and was all over the place.

“They do not know how to solve the problems our people are facing – and they do not care. Why? Because they have lost sense of direction and purpose. This is a ZOMBIE government – half-dead, half-alive, and wandering aimlessly around the political landscape.”

However, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the speech focused on government projects that will be carried out in the New Year.

“Nothing in his Excellency speech or statement was untrue word nor is a departure from the conventions that have been set out and carried out since independence where sitting government so the head of state gives the statement laying out government’s plans for the year.”
