Government MP Joseph Nand while responding to the President's address says committees are not there to please a few but to work for the common interest of all Fijians.

Parliamentary standing Committees play a pivotal role in ensuring that public opinions are taken into account.

This was reiterated by Government MP Joseph Nand while responding to the President’s address.

Nand says committees are not there to please a few but to work for the common interest of all Fijians.

“To those who constantly critic the credibility of these committees need to understand the pivotal national roles they play. A decision by the committee is not made by one member or to make other members happy.”

Nand also highlighted that the greater challenge is to develop and embrace digital platforms for online submission which will improve the productivity of all the committees.
