The Opposition Members of Parliament have been quiet despite the moral decay displayed by one of their own.

This was the response made by Infrastructure Minister Jone Usamate following interruptions by Opposition MP Niko Nawaikula.

Usamate was trying to give an update on the Savusavu Wharf when he was continually interrupted by Nawaikula.

The minister then called out the SODELPA for not being as vocal against Mosese Bulitavu.

“You keep quiet! You keep quiet! People in this country expect us to have the guts and speak the truth. When something, somebody says that something is wrong, you have the gumption to stand up and talk about it and not just say people don’t do that, people can’t do their job. The job of a parliamentarian is to speak the truth. So stop staying those kinds of words.

Speaker: “Don’t carry on a conversation between you two. I warned you about that in the past. Speak to what is being debated and that’s what we do.”

Parliament has adjourned for 3 weeks.
