The passing of the 2019 Public Enterprise Bill means Fiji will be able to match world-class delivery.

However, Sayed-Khaiyum says the Public Enterprises will flourish under the act.
“This bill which is not an amendment to the Public Enterprise bill. The former bill is now repealed. And this is a new act that we are proposing. This will put Fiji’s public enterprise segment into the 21st century, it will increase investor confidence, it will give confidence for people to sit on our boards, and of course, it will create greater economic activity.”
The bill was passed with 26 votings for it, 22 were against and two did not vote.
