Minister of Infrastructure Jone Usamate has today revealed the turnaround time for the Fiji Roads Authority to deal with complaints.
Speaking in Parliament, Usamate notes that the FRA is continually looking at how to better assist with road repairs, maintenance, and accompanying issues.
“What the Fiji Roads Authority tries to do, is it tries to deal with as many complaints as possible within 48 hours. So they have a timeline from when they receive the complaints, log them in and within 48 hours, they try to address these complaints. So they have a whole department where they have customer service representatives whose job it is, is to receive these complaints, to farm them out to the various departments within the Authority to address these complaints.”
The Minister also noting that at the end of 2017, the FRA had to deal with 9,000 service requests, 50 percent of which has now being cleared as of January this year.
Usamate was responding to an oral question posed by the Opposition MP Anare Jale on the government’s plans to provide timely attention to complaints of poor infrastructure.
The infrastructure in question included road conditions as well as wharf and jetties in maritime areas.
