The Parliament Bus community engagement programme for 2016 has begun with the first at Nauluvatu village in Nakelo, Tailevu this week.

The programme is to inform Fijians about the roles and functions of the Parliament and how Fijians can engage with the Parliament.

The programme is complemented by the Meet the Speaker programme where the Speaker of House Dr Jiko Luveni accompanies the team to communities and schools to explain her role and works of Parliament.

The Civic Education team of Parliament will continue with their outreach in Taveuni from 15th February.

The outreach ‘Parliament Bus’ programme will be conducted in all villages in Taveuni including eleven schools and two settlements.
