Para-Military group bail hearing set

Twenty of the forty-four people charged with sedition and urging political violence will have their application for bail heard in the Lautoka High Court next Monday.

The 43 men and one woman appeared before Justice Thusara Rajasinghe and were represented by Mark Anthony.

The 44 are alleged to be part of a para-military style training group in the Highlands of Ra mid this year.

They are charged with sedition contrary to section 67 and urging political violence contrary to section 65 of the Crimes Decree 2009.

Matter has also been adjourned to 7 December 2015 for bail hearing for the twenty accused persons who have applied for bail.
