The appeal hearing for 47-year-old Ben Padarath began today at the Suva High Court.

Padarath who is serving a 25 months prison sentence after he was convicted for giving false information to a public servant, in 2011 and he is appealing for his sentence.

He was sentenced last year and must serve a minimum of 16 months before being eligible for parole.
