Pacific Defence Ministers meeting begins today

May 8, 2019 6:22 am

Preparations are well underway for the fourth South Pacific Defence Ministers Meeting that will be held in Denarau, Nadi from today.

The three-day meet is the first of its kind to be held in the country after Fiji attended its first meeting in New Zealand in 2017 and was then admitted as a member country.

The meeting is a regional forum of South Pacific Defence Ministers that provides an opportunity for regional Defence Ministers and Chiefs of Defence Forces to discuss common security challenges and identify ways to improve regional security cooperation.
