More than 50 nurses are attending the overseas training course on Professional Clinical Nursing at CWM Hospital in Suva today.

The training session is being conducted by the Hunan Children’s Hospital of China.

Heath Minister, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete while officially opening the Training Course says Hunan Children’s Hospital is a friend of Fiji just like China is a friend of Fiji.

Dr Waqainabete says currently 15 medical workers from Fiji are studying at the Hunan Hospital.

Chinese Ambassador in Fiji Qian Bo says maternal and child health protection is an important indicator to measure the economic development and social civilization of a nation.

The Chinese government has dispatched seven medical staff to Fiji for the training.
