“Apprentices are the industry-ready products, the extensive training they receive while doing attachment work with the industry and likewise, attending classes make them highly competent. Some ex-apprentices have taken up a major role in industries, government entities, and institutions. Credit must go to all the pioneers of Trade Training Institutions for keeping the scheme going for over 55 years.”

Kumar says the scheme has successfully produced quality tradespeople that have been absorbed in the workforce.

He has urged employers to work closely with these tradespeople which is essential for the development of the country.
