Over 700 complaints received by Consumer Council from West

The Consumer Council of Fiji has received more than 700 complaints by consumers in the Western Division.

These are through their helpline, online and face to face complaints.

Consumer Council of Fiji Coordinator Lautoka Atish Nand says these complaints were from August 2018 to April this year.

Nand says these complaints also came to a total monetary value of more than $300,000.

He says these cases include landlord-tenant issues, contractor problems and misleading advertisements.

According to Nand, 415 consumers were assisted with advice or enquiries.

He adds the council continues to call on consumers who feel they have been victimize to report the matter.
