Over 2000 people to benefit from Irish crossings

The farming community in Vutuni Ba will now be able to cross rivers in their area with ease with the completion of construction of two Irish crossings.

Minister for Infrastructure, Parveen Bala says the Irish Crossings will connect people, resources and opportunities that the people of Ba must maximize on.

“Whether you live in remote villages in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu or in our furthest maritime islands, it is the intention of the Bainimarama government to extend to all Fijians much needed government services and excess to a brighter economic future. The economic construction of these two new crossings connects people, resources and opportunities that we the people of Ba must utilize for our maximum benefit.”

Bala says the new crossings took nine months to build and cost $2.6 million.

He also says a new $12 million Rakiraki Bridge will be opened in a few weeks time.
