The Fiji Roads Authority is looking at other alternatives of travelling.

FRA chief executive, Jonathan Moore says traffic congestion has become a major issue and other means of travelling for the public needs to be inculcated.

Moore says one such initiative is the use of ferries for travelling.

“If we keep doing this, just building the roads, without thinking about the alternatives, we end up moving the congestion somewhere else. And we can’t be doing that, it is just the wrong thing to do.”

Moore says accepting and using ferries to travel will also be more economical.

He says Fiji is surrounded by the sea and it’s about time we start using our resources for our own betterment.
