More than 360 Fijians have been charged with traffic violations this week.

Director Traffic – SSP Mahesh Mishra says this joint operation ‘Tatarovi’ between Police and the Land Transport Authority is in response to the careless attitude of drivers as we head into the festive season.

Mishra says of the 368 bookings in only 3 days of the operation which was launched on Monday – 193 cases are for speeding.

He adds the operation being led by the Police has instructed the combined deployment of 52 personal and 12 vehicles to be used.

The month long Operation ‘Tatarovi’ is expected to end on the 15th of January.
