Operation Tatarovi II continues

The Fiji Police Force will continue with its 2nd phase of Operation Tatarovi this weekend.

Police Chief of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu has advised motorists that the Fiji Police and the Land Transport Authority will be on their toes to ensure motorists are abide by the road rules this weekend.

“I would like to state that speeding still tops the list on the offences being committed during this operation and also on the positive side, we have managed to reduce fatal accidents on the roads and careless driving is another area we are concerned with and another area is the improper use of mobile whilst driving. Those are some of the areas we have seen the concentration of our efforts as we gear up in the weekend. We continue to seek the assistance of our drivers”

More than three thousand drivers have been penalised for not following the road rules during the operation in the last three weeks of operation.

Both stake holders is working to help reduce fatalities on our roads and to increase safety of pedestrians and motorists.

Operations Tatarovi will end on the 31st of this month.
