A suspect has been produced in court taking the total number of people charged for alleged seditious activities to 64.

Viliame Baravilala has been charged with one count each of sedition and urging political violence.

He appeared in the Rakiraki Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The State asked for the accused to be remanded in custody due to the seriousness of the charges and a continuing police investigation into the use of firearms.

Baravilala has been remanded in custody until Wednesday when the matter will be called again for mention.
