An official report has been lodged regarding the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl seen in a video that went viral on social media.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirms the report was lodged by the victim’s father at the Namaka Police Station.

A 17-year-old suspect has been brought in and is currently being questioned.

Naisoro says prior to the official report being lodged, officers had already been gathering information about the uploading of the video as well as the alleged offence of defilement considering the age of the students as any issue involving minors is always a concern.

She says investigators are looking into the aspect of who uploaded the video to social media.
