An investigating officer informed the Suva High Court today that one of the four accused person’s had admitted raping a 13-year-old boy in his caution interview with police.

The four men who are the victim’s uncles have been charged with one count each of rape and all of them have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

This morning, investigating Officer Emosi Nokonokovou read out one of the accused person’s caution interview in court.

In his interview, the accused had told police that he raped his nephew at his home in Tailevu between November 2015 and January 2016.

The accused allegedly informed the officer that the incident took place at 6 pm when he was alone at home and the victim had come to his place to ask for something.

The trial continues tomorrow.
