Despite the Fiji Trades Union Congress march in Nadi last Saturday, the offer for ATS workers on strike still stands.

ATS Chair, Riyaz Sayed- Khaiyum says these workers still have the chance to return to work. He says they have been manipulated by politicians and unionists who are just using them for their gain.

“It is a rally for politicians, it is trying to rebel rouse and we’re saying leave the poor and innocent workers alone, do not manipulate them and call them back at work and we want them back at work and the offer is still open and the letter is very clear, come back to work, we want them back at work.”

The ATS management also confirmed that more workers have returned to work after having to sign the letter drafted by board.

“Those who have gone back standard thirty-one. One of them is interestingly a FASA official and he is from what we believe is encouraging people who are still outside to come back to work because he has realized what have happened should not have happened.”

ATS also says that returning workers have not faced termination or any sort of victimization.
