October visitor arrivals increase

Visitor arrivals for last month increased by 7.1% when compared to the same period last year with a total of 69,126 visitors arriving.

Australia once again led the arrivals list followed by China, Japan and South Korea.

So far this year visitor arrivals have increased by 8.9%.

Visitors from the USA, New Zealand and Continental Europe recorded significant increases while those from Asia, Canada and the United Kingdom dropped.

Visitors arriving for holiday purpose accounted for 82.6% of the total arrivals, 4.2% came to visit their friends and relative, 3% came for business purposes, while 10.2% visited Fiji for other reasons.
