NZ expert to train parliament staff

*Former New Zealand Parliament Deputy Clerk Debra Angus will be in Suva this week to run a two-day training course for Parliament Secretariat staff. *

Debra Angus has almost 20 years experience working in the New Zealand Parliament and was the Parliament Deputy Clerk for eight years before she stood
down earlier this year.

Fiji Parliament Secretary General Viniana Namosimalua says she is happy that Angus will be conducting the training because she comes with a wealth of experience and expertise.

Namosimalua says they will be counting on her to improve the work of the secretariat to serve Members of Parliament better and make the Parliament work more effective.

The training session is facilitated by the UNDP Fiji Parliament Support Project – funded by the European Union and the Governments of New Zealand, Australia and Japan.
