The government doesn’t have time for critics.
These were the sentiments of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama after launching the electronic voter registration awareness process yesterday.
The government has copped endless criticisms from politicians and others, calling on the military to step down, and that the 1997 constitution was the best.
In response, the Prime Minister had this message.
I don’t have time for critics right now except to say that we started this process and we will see it to the end. You can tell Chaudhry, Beddoes, Qarase, the women’s forum that we started this and we will end it.
Yesterday’s launch of the EVR awareness process has been hailed as a significant step towards the 2014 elections.
Meanwhile the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces has come out strong, saying they will not step down.
Col. Mosese Tikoitoga says there’s no one else who can be trusted to carry through the national clean-up campaign.
If there is any fear in the military, it is the cleaning up of all the corrupt practises which took us to the brink of collapse. And we wont wont till we wipe it out.
As different sectors of society prepare for constitutional consultations, the Military says people should question the motives of politicians who are now resurfacing.
