‘’From our own experience at the Ministry, we have noted that some committees formed by resource owners seem to have deviated from their entrusted roles. They have failed to consult their own people who trusted them leading to widespread confusion, finger pointing and rift amongst the resource owners’’.

Vuniwaqa says it is important for provincial resource owners to keep the people fully informed about any development of their natural resources.

The National iTaukei Resource Owners Workshop will continue tomorrow and discussions will be centered around the capacity development of iTaukei to make informed decisions about their natural resources.
