No incidents recorded in evacuation centres: Police

The Police Force beefed up its security measures last night with 603 officer engaging in mobile and foot patrol until the early hours of this morning.
Police Chief of Operations, ACP Maretino Qiolevu, says their coverage included the monitoring of the seven evacuation centres and security in major towns and cities.
Qiolevu says field officer have confirms there have been no incidents in any evacuation centers as of yet.
“Up until morning nil incident in evacuation centers but we are monitoring these evacuation centers very closely. Some of the evacuation centers, we are placing police officers and a few centres are being covered by mobile patrols.”
ACP Qiolevu says they will continue to provide assistance in evacuation centers if the need arises.
Police is working closely with the National Disaster Management Office to ensure that safety remains paramount at this crucial time.
