There is no danger to residents living near the Asphalt Plant owned by Fulton Hogan in Suva.
This has been confirmed by USP’s Environmental Expert Francis Mani who says findings over a three-day period of testing showed that the emission from the plant is just steam.
This is after residents living near the area expressed their concern about the smoke emissions from the plant, which could be harmful to their health.
Meanwhile, Fulton Hogan’s General Manager, Patrick Keenan, says the company’s commitment to safety does not just involve road works and people but the machinery and the communities in which it operates.
