No charges against MP Parmod Chand: DPP

The Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde has decided that no charges will be laid against Member of Parliament, Parmod Chand.

Chand was arrested by police and interviewed under caution on December 8th on suspicion of having committed seditious offences contrary to the Crimes Act.

He was arrested for alleged comments he made at a shop in Delailabasa, Labasa on August 14th.

The DPP stated that there is insufficient reliable evidence to support any criminal charges against Chand and therefore the docket has been returned to police.
