August 10, 2018 7:06 pm

Prime Fiji Limited facing charges of forgery have filed for a no case to answer submission.

The company was charged by FICAC with one count of forgery and one count of Using Forged Documents in 2016.

FICAC alleges that Prime Fiji submitted a falsified Westpac Security Bond of over three hundred and fifty-one thousand dollars to the Fiji Roads Authority while negotiating a street light renewal agreement.

The Defence counsels submitted that Prime Fiji Limited never intended to dishonestly induce the Fiji Roads Authority.

They further stated that their junior lawyer made a mistake and called the bank to inform them of the error.

However, the FICAC lawyer said the document submitted by Prime Fiji Limited was false and they continued with business as usual.

The Suva Magistrates court will deliver a ruling on a no case to answer submission on September 18th.
