Police are yet to make any arrests in relation to an incident whereby a fifty-year-old man died after he was allegedly assaulted by four men.

The incident happened in Ellington, Kings Road on Friday evening.

The four suspects who were drunk at the time stopped the vehicle driven by the deceased, pulled him out and allegedly assaulted him.

As a result the man fell on the ground and got injured.

He was taken to the Rakiraki hospital by a passing vehicle but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim was on his way to the village with his ten-year-old son.

Investigation continues.
