Nine task groups have been assigned to look into the critical areas of the Construction Industry Council.
Council Chief Executive, Vijay Naidu, says these areas include contracts, OHS and environment, authority approvals, building codes, licensing, dispute resolution, insurance and building contracts.
“All the nine task groups was formed after the resolutions that came out of the conference that we had. The delegates at the conference identified these nine areas where they wanted us to work on in the oncoming years. So these nine areas were of great concern to everyone because the industry has not had time to focus on its development areas.”
Naidu says the task group will also work on solutions that will help address some of the issues that arise from these areas.
Each task group consist of a designer, architecture, engineer, surveyor and a lawyer.
