Nine schools in Namosi will now have the chance to learn basic software and access information via the internet after they were each handed 30 handheld electronic devices or tablets by the Ministry of Education.
According to Minister,Dr Mahendra Reddy, the tablets were donated by the Indian government to assist rural and maritime schools.
‘’It’s not the nine schools that you see will receive this tablets, we are looking at more than 200 schools receiving their tablets where students will take turns, each class will have a IT hour where tablets are given to children and they can work on it’’.
Fiji’s High Commissioner to India Yogesh Karan says the assistance should encourage students to strive for a better future.
