The design competition for the new Fiji flag will end in nine days time.
And Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is urging all Fijians to contribute their ideas to this noble endeavor.
“As I’ve said before, you don’t need anything more than a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. And you never know: Your idea might just be the one that resonates with everyone or contributes to the final design. So get your entries in and be part of this historic occasion’’.
He made the comments at the cadet’s passing out parade at Ratu Navula School in Nadi today.
The new flag design competition closes on May 1st.
A committee is expected to be named soon to vet the applications and pick a design which will then be submitted to Cabinet.
The new flag is scheduled to be released on Independence Day celebrations on October 10th.
