A 36-year-old Labasa nightclub employee has been arrested after two bags of dried leaves believed to be marijuana were found in his vehicle.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says a search was conducted by a team manning a roadblock near Nasekula, Labasa yesterday.

The alleged seized substances were packed in what looked like small bags of yaqona.

The seized substances have been sent for analysis as investigations continue.

In a separate operation, officers conducted a follow-up raid at a farm known for cultivating marijuana in Tukavesi yesterday morning.

The team trekked up the Dawabalavu Hill in Nanovu and discovered plants believed to be marijuana ranging from 1.5 to 4 meters.

The owner of the farm is yet to be located and the seized plants have been sent for analysis.
