The Registrar of Political Parties has lifted the National Federation Party’s suspension.
Registrar of Political Parties and Elections Supervisor Mohammed Saneem says his office received a fresh set of audited financial accounts from NFP’s lawyers.
These records were then checked and given the green light.
“We subsequently verified all the accounts to see if Mr Dutt was a certified person by the FIA and that turned out to be correct, he carried a certificate of public practice under the FIA and his name is also under the list of current practitioners in the FIA Website and there after we uplifted the suspension of NFP due to their compliance they have now complied to the decree and as per the law we have uplifted their suspension.”
Saneem says the NFP now enjoys all the rights and privileges of a political party as per the Political Partyies Decree.
As a result of the suspension, 3 members of the Party – Professor Biman Prasad, Tupou Draunidalo and Prem Singh were suspended from last week’s sitting of Parliament.
They were also suspended from all Parliamentary committees.
