The National Fire Authority is still trying to ascertain the cause of fire that destroyed a wooden house in Sabeto Village outside Nadi on Wednesday morning.

National Fire Authority Chief Executive John O’Connor says the house was fully engulfed in fire when firefighters reached the scene.

The house belonged to a farmer Mesake Naidiri, whose family was not at home when the incident occurred.

He estimated his losses at about $30,000.

Investigations continue.
