The National Fire Authority will soon expand their services to Nabouwalu.

Local government Minister Parveen Kumar says by building a new fire station in Nabouwalu will reduce their response time.

He says apart from responding to fires NFA also responds to incidents involving hazardous material rescue, road accident rescue and 24 hours emergency ambulance services.

“The reason why we are doing this and reaching out in our rural areas because all these time the ordinary Fijians they did not have services and now we are reaching out to them and definitely they will have a better services now once this is completed and operational.”

The work on the Nabouwalu fire station is in progress and will be completed by next month.
