NFA plans to open three fire stations this year

The National Fire Authority plans to open three more fire stations around the country this year.

These stations will be located in Rakiraki, Bua and Savusavu.

NFA Chief Fire Officer, Qionilau Moceitai says this will help the authority provide better services to Fijians living in these areas.

He says they are also in the process of recruiting more fire-fighters.

“We are building stations and also we are recruiting fire officers. We will be having another recruitment soon and we still building fire stations in Savusavu, Bua and Rakiraki at the moment.”

Moceitai says all the equipment for these fire stations will be brought from overseas.

Funds for these developments have been provided by the Government.
