There is a need for more fire trucks in the country considering new stations currently in operation and the development of additional fire houses.

National Fire Authority Chief Executive Manasa Lesuma says they are working on procuring two new fire trucks to help boost services.

He says though the equipment is quiet expensive, however with the grant provided by government it would make the procurement possible.

Lesuma says they are also working with other global authorities in trying to secure additional equipment.

“We have fortunate to have been able to engage with some of our overseas suppliers and we are confident that we should be able to get two new fire trucks with less than half a million dollars.”

Meanwhile $1.5 million has been provided by government to NFA as a capital grant in the 2018/2019 budget
