The much debated ivi tree in the heart of Suva was set fire last night.

However, quick action by the National Fire Authority dosed off the flames minutes after it was set fire by an unknown person.

NFA chief executive John O’Connor says, they received an anonymous call after midnight that a person had set fire to the ivi tree.

A portion of the ivi tree was burnt.
