The National Fire Authority has managed to get successful bids on the tenders advertised for new fire trucks.

Chief Executive Manasa Lesuma says this is an important exercise considering their new stations and the development of additional firehouses.

Lesuma says the cost of two new fire trucks procured by NFA would be less than $1 million.

“Tender is currently in process at the moment so the committee is currently evaluating that. So once the committee has confirmed and made recommendations and that will be further submitted to the board for approval.”

He says the cost of purchasing new equipment has been procured from funds set aside for the NFA’s current budget which is $1.5 million.
