After putting out applications for tender to develop a new town in the rural area of Nabouwalu, the Local Government Ministry has finally given the contract to Taiyub Hussein of Hussein’s Hire Plant.
Minister responsible, Parveen Kumar says before work starts a lot of factors need to be considered.
He says this includes environment requirements, engineering designs and the construction plans.
“This town for the first time is also designed to accommodate the disable. There has been a lot of talks about disable and it has been included in the design as well.”
Kumar says government is investing around seven million dollars with the project expected to be completed within 12 months after the ground breaking ceremony.
He says after the completion of the town, Nabouwalu will be seen as a municipality having its own facilities including a well-serviced center for trade.
