Work is underway at the construction of the new $1.9 million remand center in Natabua Prison in Lautoka.

The centre will be two-stored with dormitory type facilities and will cater for over 90 people.

Commissioner of Corrections Colonel Ifereimi Vasu says the first building has just been completed.

“The new remand center in Lautoka has been going on well, Western Builders should be handing over the first new building this weekend and the administration block is currently under construction at the moment.”
