New Red Cross offices in Savusavu and Labasa

The Fiji Red Cross Society has taken a step forward in ‘Building Resilient Communities’ by constructing offices and storage facilities worth over $1m stocked with supplies at 15 sites.

Twi newly constructed offices have been launched in Savusavu and Labasa.

Each of the facilities have been stocked with 100 emergency shelter toolkits, 150 family packs, 200 blankets, 200 ten litre water collapsible containers, 200 tarpaulins and 100 cooking sets.

The project has been funded by the Australian government.

Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes, says Australia is committed to supporting Fiji’s efforts to build resilience and manage and mitigate disaster risks.

The supplies in the new Savusavu and Labasa branches will assist an estimated 1250 people.
